- Tynemouth Castle is located on a rocky headland (known as Pen Bal Crag), overlooking Tynemouth Pier .
The moated castle-towers, gatehouse and keep are combined with the ruins of the Benedictine priory. Within the Priory, Three kings of Northumbria were buried.
